Locato – Smart Shopping Navigation App
Locato is a mobile app that helps users find their products inside the store faster. By scanning a store’s QR code (for example, in Lidl), the app synchronizes the shopping list with the actual store map.

Challenge
Supermarkets are often stressful and time-consuming, with shoppers wasting energy moving back and forth to find items. Traditional lists lack location context, causing confusion and longer shopping times.
Our solution: an app that links the shopping list to the store map. By scanning a QR code at the entrance, users see their items placed in the correct aisles, making shopping faster and easier.
Results
With Lokato, users can:
Scan a store’s QR code and instantly access the map layout.
Build or import a shopping list and see where items are located.
Follow a simplified path through the store, reducing wasted time.
Group products by category and aisle (e.g., fruits – 5 items, snacks – 3 items).

Process
Research & Analysis: Analyzed how people shop and found the main problem: lists don’t show where products are in the store, causing wasted time and stress.
User Flows & CJM: Mapped the customer journey and created user flows: scan QR → add list → sync with map → navigate aisles.
Wireframing & Prototyping: Built low-fidelity wireframes and an interactive prototype in Figma to test navigation and logic.
Usability Testing: Tested with users, improved navigation visibility, and refined “Find on the map” actions.
Visual Design & Style Guide: Defined a minimal style with clear typography, dark mode, and category colors. Built icons and a small design system.
